This piece is the goal when taking these heaters apart. What you see here are four rows of 1/8" thick ceramic slabs, sandwiched between aluminum heatsinks. The tabs are electrical contacts; the aluminum heatsinks are electrically live in operation. They're actually part of the circuit. Aren't you glad they put that little mesh grille in front?
